To provide financial assistance to the financially unstable female citizens of Tamil Nadu state the Tamil Nadu State authorities introduced the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme 2024. Under this scheme, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu State Mr MK Stalin has announced to provide financial assistance of INR 1000 to all the female citizens. This scheme aims to improve the economic well-being of all the female citizens to belong to the economically weaker section of society. What is Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme 2024
The Tamil Nadu state government announced the launch of the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme 2024 to uplift the social status and standard of living of all the financially weak female citizens. For the implementation of this scheme, the Tamil Nadu state government has set up a total budget of INR 7000 crores. Under this scheme, the financial assistance of INR 1000 will be transferred directly to the selected female citizen’s bank account. According to the Government of Tamil Nadu state, the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme is all set to launch on 15th September 2024.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu state.
- The female citizen must be above the age of 18 years.
- The annual income of the female citizen family must not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
- The female citizens’ family must not be more than 5 acres of wetland and 10 acres of dryland.
- The annual electricity consumption of the female citizen family must not exceed 3600 units.

Ineligibility

- If the annual income of the female citizen family exceeds INR 2.5 lakh she will not be selected under the scheme.
