Assam Pratibha Protsahan Yojana:- The Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, has taken a significant step in empowering the state’s young aspirants by introducing a ground-breaking financial aid scheme on September 17, 2024, exclusively for UPSC Civil Services Examination candidates. This innovative project embodies the Governor of Assam’s commitment to developing future leaders who are dedicated to Rashtra Nirman and ensuring that Assamese youth meaningfully contribute to Viksit Bharat. It is in partnership with Project UPSC, which is run by Paavan Chintan Dhara Ashram and Arya Pratibha Vikas Sansthan, which is under the umbrella of Arya Samaj.
What is Assam Pratibha Protsahan Yojana?
The Pratibha Protsahan Yojana is a scholarship program which is being exclusively launched for UPSC aspirants. 512 committed candidates will receive support from this program (12 direct modes and 500 online modes), giving them access to the tools and guidance they need to succeed in the UPSC Civil Services Examination’s preliminary and main sections. The direct mode applicants who are chosen will receive extensive perks, such as lodging, food, and mentoring; these will be provided by Raj Bhavan, Assam, in collaboration with affiliated organizations.

The main purpose of launching the Assam Pratibha Protsahan Yojana is to provide guiding light to the young aspirants who want to pursue their career in the UPSC examinations. Under this program around 512 students will be benefited. The government will assist the 12 aspirants through offline mode and the other 500 through online mode. The scheme will focus on providing the necessary resources and the mentorship to these aspirants.

Selection Process
The top 5,000 applicants will be chosen after a preliminary screening of application forms based on class 12th and graduation percentages, making them eligible to sit in a screening test. The screening test for the top 5,000 applicants will take place in Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, and Bongaigaon. The written screening exam will consist of a descriptive essay and multiple choice questions (MCQs) with an OMR basis. The UPSC CSE (Preliminary) Examination syllabus will apply to the Screening Test as well. The OMR-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will take two hours to complete, and the Descriptive Essay will take an extra thirty minutes. Results of the screening exam will be reported online on the website.
